AI advantage is moving from clever models to who controls compute, access, and talent. This issue shows what that means for your marketing team right now.

1. Infrastructure is the moat

OpenAI raised 110 billion dollars in February at a 730 billion dollar pre-money valuation. Amazon committed 50 billion dollars. NVIDIA and SoftBank committed 30 billion dollars each. By 31 March, the round closed at 122 billion dollars and an 852 billion dollar valuation.

The edge is shifting to compute and distribution, not the model alone.

2. Model launches now have a gate

The United States government asked OpenAI to stagger the release of its next model, GPT 5.6, over security concerns. During the preview, the government approves access on a customer-by-customer basis before any wider rollout. It is the first time Washington has limited a launch before release.

Model access is turning into a regulated event, not a public drop.

3. The hiring split you can feel here

AI hiring in Ireland almost doubled between 2024 and 2025. The share of job postings asking for AI skills reached 3.7 percent in 2025, up from about 2.3 percent in 2024. Roles with AI skills carried an average advertised wage premium of about 62 percent.

AI fluency now sets pay and shapes who gets hired.

What this means here

Under the EU AI Act, transparency duties begin to apply from August 2026. Put that next to staggered model access and doubling AI hiring. For a marketer in Ireland or the UK, the near-term job is clear. Build AI skills your team can prove. Document how you use AI in every campaign.
